Reference Stallions Ruffus Bars Ruffus Bars: Foaled in 1968, Ruffus Bars was bred by Jim Lawrence of Ellensburg Washington where he stood for many years. After Lawrences' death Ruffus was purchased in 1983 by Louis and Johnna Exner of Morningstar Ranch in Curlew Washington where he stood for the rest of his days. Ruffus Bars was sired by Guy Bar AAA, a track record holder and stakes and ROM race winner and out of Rosie Hancock by Dusty Hancock AA. Ruffus sired a number of foals that won on the track and ran ROM including Stewart's Daisy, Thrall Skeeter, Thrall Don, Thrall Jettina and Thrall Liz, all out of different mares. He also sired a lot of top rope and barrel horses. Ruffus was himself an excellent rope horse, heading and heeling and ran barrels at 16 seconds flat.
